Everything is possible on an open fire
From time immemorial fire has protected people from wild animals offered warmth and a place to cook.Cooking over open fire has so many positive sides. Temperature, taste, and it’s a romance! Try steppin’ out of your comfort zone and think differently. Use hay to smoke your fish or clams, wrap your fish in an old wet newspaper, everything is possible on an open fire. You have to be creative and adapt to every situation. Use the knowledge of traditional recipes and blend them, so you can cook them over the fire!

Fire is enormously versatile
Zouterover, Nick and Kevin from Antwerp, Belgium. We got to know each other through our wives who have been friends for a long time and soon discovered our shared passion for creative cooking. In no time we started experimenting fanatically on the open fire and more and more friends joined these moments of good conversations and delicious food. Cooking with fire is enormously versatile. We cook and smoke with different kinds of wood and do not cease to be surprised by their manifold influences on the taste of the meals. We preserve the original flavors of the ingredients as much as possible, only seasoning with different salt mixes – thus our name “Zouterover” (salt over it). We use everything nature has to offer, including produce that would normally end up in the kitchen waste.
It doesn't take much to have a perfect, relaxed day.
